Global Contact Services (GCS), a provider of integrated customer care solutions and business process outsourcing, named Roger Akers as vice president of operations with responsibilities for operations, service delivery, the company’s systems department, profit loss, and 12 contact centers. Akers was previously responsible for overseeing GCS’s off-shore operations. He has more than 25 years experience in management and operations in the outsourced customer contact industry.
Jeff Meredith was named Southern regional director and is responsible for operational activities, including quality and performance, at contact centers in Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Meredith has more than 15 years of operational and management experience. In other promotions, Sydney Chmiel has been named a client services director.
Headquartered in Salisbury, NC, GCS has 2,000 employees at 12 contact centers and makes more than two million customer contacts per month. GCS handles business process outsourcing for the insurance, banking, financial, telecom, energy, and political industries.
