Peter DeHaan Publishing Inc, publisher of Connections Magazine, received the 2011 All Star Award from Constant Contact®, providers of an email marketing platform to half a million organizations worldwide. Each year, a select group of Constant Contact customers is honored with the All Star Award for their exemplary marketing results. Peter DeHaan Publishing Inc’s results ranked them among the top ten percent of Constant Contact’s customer base.

“We are truly honored to have been recognized as an email marketing All Star for 2011. This is our second year in a row, which makes this award doubly exciting,” stated Peter DeHaan, publisher of Connections Magazine. “We work hard to follow and exceed industry standards and expectations with our email messages to subscribers. We strive to keep our bounce rate low and increase our open and click rates. Offering messages that are relevant, valuable, and appreciated by our subscribers helps with this. Once again, Constant Contact has seen our efforts and rewarded us as a result.”

Peter DeHaan Publishing, which publishes Connections Magazine, TAS Trader, AnswerStat, and Medical Call Center News, uses email to connect with readers and share important information.

Candy DeHaan Joins Connections Magazine (October 2011)

Candy DeHaan recently joined Connections Magazine and Peter DeHaan Publishing Inc as director of social media. She will also be involved with Connections’ website and assist in all aspects of the magazine’s publication. Candy has spent the last fourteen years working at CU Radio, serving in many varied capacities. That experience makes her well qualified for her new role with Connections Magazine.

“With the continued success of Connections Magazine, our sister publications, and numerous associated websites, it became time to tap into some additional expertise,” stated Peter DeHaan, publisher of Connections. “There are many exciting opportunities before us, and adding Candy to our team positions us well to capitalize on them. She has been informally helping behind the scenes for many years, and now her work and her contributions have become official.”

Her initial focus will be on enhancing Connections Magazine’s social media offerings. She will also be involved in all aspects of Peter DeHaan Publishing Inc’s products and services, including AnswerStat, Medical Call Center News, and TAS Trader, as well as the organization’s eighteen websites and supporting blogs.

FindATeleserviceAgency.com Adds New Headings (July 2011)

FindATeleserviceAgency.com has expanded its contact center listing categories to help those seeking contact center services better connect with outsourcing call centers and teleservice providers.

The new categories feature contact centers that offer email processing, text chat, and IVR (interactive voice response) to their clients.

Follow Connections Magazine on Twitter (December 2010)

Connections Magazine is now tweeting!  Find us at twitter.com/connections_mag.  "Our Twitter account is an extension of our newsfeed, podcast, and Facebook pages, providing a Twitter-sized summary of what has been posted on these three resources," stated Peter DeHaan, publisher of Connections Magazine.  "Often our tweets are a news headline, followed by the actual URL."

DeHaan added that "tiny URLs" will not be used in Connections Magazine's tweets, only the actual Web address.  This is because many people are rightfully wary of these space-saving shortcuts, since the destination website is obscured to the user.  "We want our readers to be assured that the link they click on is a safe one," he added.

In addition to Twitter, Connections Magazine is also on Facebook, has a newsfeed (newsfeed.connectionsmagazine.com), and podcasts (podcast.connectionsmagazine.com).  The newsfeed, podcasts, and Twitter users have the option of receiving updates via an RSS feed, as well as by email notification.

Connections Magazine Launches Podcast Site (Jul 08)

To better serve the industry by providing an additional means of communication, Connections Magazine has launched an industry-specific podcast site.  The podcast site will feature call center related audio interviews and recordings that Connections Magazine will record and post.  Three interviews recorded at the April ATA Convention are already available, with seven more interviews from the June ATSI Convention scheduled to be added over the summer.

Initially, the podcasts were to be included in the Connections Magazine news and information feed, but have recently been moved to this new site to provide greater ease of access and to better showcase these interesting and compelling recordings.

There are three ways of accessing information from each podcast.  First, it can be checked manually.  Alternately, email notification can be requested.  Lastly, there is an option for Aton and RSS newsfeeds.  All three may be accessed at http://podcast.connectionsmagazine.com.  There is also a podcast link on the Connections Magazine website.

For more information, visit www.connectionsmagazine.com.  The podcast site is http://podcast.connectionsmagazine.com and the news and information feed is http://newsfeed.connectionsmagazine.com.

Connections Launches Industry-Exclusive News and Information Feed (May 08)

In order to better serve readers and provide an additional means of communication, Connections Magazine has launched an industry-specific news and information feed.  Configured much like a typical blog, the newsfeed will provide updates and information to Connections Magazine's audience.

Information will include notices of when new information or sections have been added to the Connections Magazine website, exclusive online articles, guest editorials, and selected breaking news.  Of specific importance are notices each time a new issue of Connections Magazine is available online for reading, viewing, or printing.  Typically, each issue is added online a week or more before the mailed version is received.

There are three ways of accessing information from the newsfeed.  First, it can be checked manually.  Alternately, readers may sign up to be notified via email of all new information - the goal is no more than one notification per week.  Lastly, there is an option for Aton and RSS newsfeeds.  All three may be accessed at http://newsfeed.connectionsmagazine.com.  There is also a link to the newsfeed on the Connections Magazine website under "Info/Resources."

Peter DeHaan Launches Blog (Mar 08)

Peter DeHaan, publisher of Connections Magazine, AnswerStat magazine, and the website, ArticleWeekly.com, launched a blog on January 1, simply entitled The Musings of Peter DeHaan.

"I had been considering a blog for a couple of years," DeHaan stated.  "The feedback that I receive on my articles and editorials is both affirming and encouraging.  My main concern was wondering if I would have enough worthwhile topics to write about in a blog.  Eventually, I concluded that this was not an issue - and the blog was launched!"

The blog will be similar in scope and tone to Peter's From the Publisher column on page 7 of this magazine.  As such, it will serve as a general-purpose repository of his thoughts and observations, covering an array of subjects from the personal to the public and everything in between.

New Postal Rates Hits Connections with a 41 Percent Increase (Jul 07)

The new USPS rates hit Connections Magazine hard, with a 41 percent increase.  To address this, Connections Magazine is carefully scrutinizing each copy that is mailed.  Every deserving, qualified person should continue to receive a copy.  However, a diligent quest is underway to identify and remove duplicate and obsolete mailings.

  • Let Connections know of extra copies that your company no longer needs.
  • If the address label contains incorrect information, please update it.
  • If you are personally receiving multiple copies at different locations, please wean yourself down to one copy and cancel the rest.
  • Check your mailing label.  If it says "Please Renew," Connections Magazine definitely needs to hear from you if your subscription is to continue.

All these items (subscription renewals, changes, updates, as well as new subscription requests) can be accomplished online at www.connectionsmagazine.com/subscribe.

Telescan Wins Award for Connections Magazine Ad (Nov 06)

The Business Marketing Association (BMA) of St. Louis recently announced that Telescan has received a Targeted Advertising and Marketing (TAM) Award for their 2006 magazine ad titled, "Take Another Look at Telescan."  The award was presented to Telescan and their agency, Marketing Alliance, at a ceremony in September.  This is the fourth straight year that Telescan and Marketing Alliance have received TAM awards for their marketing programs.

"We are honored that the Business Marketing Association has chosen to recognize our marketing efforts," said Patty Anderson, Telescan's director of sales.  "We believe a strong marketing program is critical to success, and our partnership with Marketing Alliance has helped us maintain a strong, creative marketing presence."

Connections Adds Vendor Literature Section to Website (May 06)

Connections Magazine has expanded their website by adding a vendor literature section.  Advertisers in Connections Magazine have submitted brochures and literature so that readers may learn more about their products and services.  Additional vendor and product literature will be added as it is made available.

The information currently online is from Alston Tascom, Amtelco, CenturiSoft, Professional Teledata, Record / Play Tek, Szeto, Telescan, and XLScheduler.

New Article Website Launched (Mar 06)

Peter DeHaan Publishing, Inc, publisher of Connections Magazine and AnswerStat magazine, launched a new website, "My Article Archive."  The new site features articles of a general nature that have widespread application and appeal.  "Each month we receive many excellent articles that we can't fit into our print magazines," stated the website's creator, Peter DeHaan.  "Sometimes, we just don't have enough room and other times the content, which is valuable and well-written, is broader than the specific focus of our magazines.  Developing a website to showcase this work seemed to be an excellent solution."

The article website already contains over 100 articles, with new articles being added weekly.  Topics include: Business, Communications, Customer service, Financial, Humor, Internet, Leadership, Legal, Management, Marketing, Sales, and Self-Improvement.  Several of the articles have been written by authors whose work has appeared in Connections Magazine and AnswerStat magazine.

Visit www.ArticleWeekly.com to read articles posted and for more information.
