STA 2003 Spring Cruise and Workshop
Reported by Dan L'Heureux
June, 2003
The Southern Telemessaging Association (STA) held its
second Spring Cruise / Workshop April 28 through May 3 aboard the Carnival
Cruise Lines Imagination.
Forty attendees participated in the workshop.
Randy Ripkey of TASbiller and
Accurate Messages gave a presentation entitled
"Profitability
Analysis – How to Make More Money." Steve Clover of CadCom
Telesystems shared ideas on how to effectively
market to physicians.
Tips to detect and avoid burnout were shared by
Mari Osmon of Spectrum Communications. Later
MaryAnn Wetmore of Network One
Communications and Patty Anderson of
Telescan led a discussion on HIPAA and its impact on call centers.
Each evening, a follow up roundtable discussion of
the day's presentation topic was held during dinner. Attendees were
happy with the learning and networking opportunities as well as the
relational value with other owners. Ports of call were
Belize City, Belize, and Key West Florida.
There was ample time on the ship for sun, play, and eating in between the valuable
sessions.
The third Annual STA Spring Cruise /
Workshop has already been scheduled for April 25- May 1, 2004.
